"Whether you’re a social gamer or a competitive one, you're sure to find like-minded gaming buddies here at SMU eSports." - Delaina K, President of SMU eSports

eSports Annual Event

eSports consists of multiplayer video games played competitively for spectators, typically

by professional gamers. But here in SMU, it’s not all about competitive gaming – SMU

eSports caters to both casual (just-for-fun) gamers as well as those who seek the glory of

representing SMU in competitions!

Having their very own Switch and an extensive Steam Library, SMU eSports is able to

feature different games in their weekly sessions every friday - from games with battles like League of Legends, to party games like Mario Party and Jackbox, there’s something for everyone. Occasionally, there will be “pizza weeklies” where anyone that attends their

weekly session and tries one of their featured games gets a slice of pizza for participating!

One of their signature events is the SMU eSports Game Parade - an event that is hosted every semester. It is where a booth is set up for students to try out some of their popular games and stands a chance to win prizes. They also take part in co-hosting the Inter-Varsity Gaming Festival (IVGF)! Members of their club can go up against players from other local universities, in games such as Mobile Legends, DOTA, and compete for attractive prizes.
